Liturgy for the celebration of Saint Nektarios’s memory
On Thursday, November 9, 2017, in the Metropolitan Church of Corfu, the Bishop of Corfu,Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, mr. Nektarios along with the Bishop of Syros, Tinos, Andros, Kea, Milos and Mykonos, mr. Dorotheos did the Episcopal Divine Liturgy for the celebration of Saint Nektarios’s memory.
In his speech, Mr. Dorotheos referred to the characteristics of the 20th Century’s Saint Nektarios; love, humbleness and forgiveness. With his spiritual struggle, he kept the Holy Spirit in his heart, make him do wonders. Many mean people attacked him. But with his prayers and the true communication with Christ, he forgave them. Saint Nektarios was a really virtuous man.
Moreover, Mr. Dorotheos added that Saint Nektarios redefined truth, defending our Orthodox Faith.
In his closing, Mr. Dorotheos wished to the Metropolitan of Corfu, Mr. Nektarios, to live for many more years and to continue taking care of the Church of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands by daily testifying for Jesus Christ.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Mr. Nektarios thanked the Metropolitan of Syros, Tinos, Andros, Kea, Milos and Mykonos, mr. Dorotheos, for his brotherly love, along with the clergy and the people of the local Church, for their wishes.
