New Year’s Cake cutting at the philanthropic charity food queues of the Holy Metropolis of Corfu in Mandouki.
On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, his Eminence, the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios blessed and cut the New Year’s Cake at the philanthropic charity food queues in Mandouki.
In his address, his Eminence thanked the volunteers for their blessed work on a daily basis and underlined that in this era, of spiritual and moral decline, the need to help one another is crucial.
Moreover, Mr. Nektarios pointed out that our homeland is transformed to small regions instead of a country due to the ones in power. Nothing happening these days in Greece is by chance taking into account the geopolitical shuffles in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans. We as Orthodox Christians, should be alarmed, pray and participate in the Liturgical life of our Church. With everyone’s love and cooperation, the Divine Grace is revealed in this world as it is declared in the Old Testament too.
In the end, the Bishop of Corfu wished to the priests and volunteers of the charity food queues be blessed by Christ.
It should be noted that two more charity food queues operate in the Holy Metropolis of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands in the parishes of Saint Eleftherios and Virgin Mary the Mandrakina and the Holy Three Martyrs in Anemomylos.
