Bishop of Corfu, mr. Nektarios “To become a Saint, is to fulfill God’s will”
On Sunday, December the 3rd, 2017, his Eminence, the Bishop of Corfu, Paxoi and Diapontian Islands, mr. Nektarios did the divine Liturgy in the Church of Saint Kiriaki in Chrisiida region.
In his preaching, the Bishop of Corfu analyzed the Apostolical reading of the day, from St. Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians.
The Apostle of the Nations advises the Ephesians to walk in their spiritual road as children of Light and become Saints, when fulfilling God’s will. Our Saints had a real relationship with Triadic God before becoming Saints. They loved and fulfilled His will wholeheartedly.
Moreover, the Apostle Paul consults the Ephesians to walk in their lives as wise and not as ignorant men. The God-wise man is spiritually struggling through the cleansing of his heart and mind in order to eradicate those passions that hold him apart from the grace of Christ.
On the other hand, ignorant is the man who possesses the secularized spirit and becomes slave of his passions. He tries with various means to acquire material prosperity. But humans, as an entity with soul and body, have their basis to their Creator and thus their attempts to fulfill the spiritual emptiness with material goods are unsuccessful.
In his closing, the Bishop invited the loyal Christians to consider their own faults and criticize themselves in order to walk in their lives along with Christ, love, humbleness, forgiveness and spirit of ministry.
